Spreading the Love

Really I just wanted to share this story because it made me super duper happy when I read it. But as this is an environment blog I guess I could say...

This story is about the actions of one individual, named Julio Diaz, who reflects one of Morton's views (at least in terms of humanity). He believes in the importance of treating others with equality. Through his own actions he influences the actions of the antagonist, a teenage boy. This guy is stunned when he sees Diaz treating all of the employees at a diner with equal respect and kindness. A lone individual will have trouble making a difference, especially in relation to saving the earth. Individual action can, however, promote change or a new way of thinking within their own environment by affecting the environments of those around them. If somebody only manages to affect one other person, at least now there are a couple of people that can spread a change. I'd like to think that the boy in this story really thought about the way he was treated and told his ideas to someone else. Perhaps human decency could be the next big thang.
